The Watford Home Kit 1976-77
|

Graham Taylor. Without a doubt the number 1 manager
in Watford's history
|
News
The kit introduces red
for the first time in 60 years. But that was the only thing that was in,
as Keen was out by the Huddersfield match at Vicarage Road. Watford
finished 7th but the board driven by Elton John were ambitious and wanted success.
The Daily Mail’s
Jeff Powell revelled Bobby Moore was to be the next Watford Manager. An
approach for a manager at Lincoln called Graham Taylor had been refused.
Elton then spoke to Taylor during the close season as did West Bromwich
Albion. Elton sold the club to Taylor and a partnership was born as
Graham Taylor joined Watford.
On the playing
side a keeper called Steve Sherwood joins from Chelsea via several loan
clubs.
