News  The Greyhound Racing Association pays £65k advanced rental and £200k on developing the ground for racing.

Luther Blissett becomes a Hornet with 3 games at the end of the season, opening his account with a goal at home to Swansea.

Vic Akers plays 26 games for the Horns during the season.. Who the heck is Vic Akers I here you cry. He is now the Arsenal Kit man and manager of their very successful ladies team.

Watford finished eighth in Division 4 after a slow start and Stewart Scullion departs for Tampa Bay for £8k

Three are banned for leading a Jim Bonsor out protest which had now been going for a couple of season. Up to now Bonsor had just stuck in his seat like a stubborn old man, however at the end of the season he had gone. Jim sold his holdings to Elton John and Bonsor had gone.

Elton John was to do to this club what no other chairman had ever done. But first he needed a manager who would share his vision.
