News  Mike Keen is appointed as manager and Doug Woodfield as player coach. By the season end Keen signs a two and a half year deal.

Dennis Bond returns from Charlton for £15k.Along with Stewart Scullion for £15k.

However at season end it is a sad farewell to Duncan Welbourne who gets a testimonial against Wolves.

Mike Keen’s boys achieve a creditable 7th place after the previous years of misery.

Off the pitch a fan from the bend between the Shrodells stand and the Rookery end joins the board and organises a sing along for the end of the season.

Enter Elton Hercules John Watford Vic President.

The sing along attracts 31,000 to the Vic and raises £30k for the club


In the League we finish 7th out of 24 of Division 3.
