News  Watford Council blocks Watford’s plans to continue with the Sunday market they held at the time and a horse and pony sale.

Blackburn approach Furphy about becoming their manager, Furphy fed up with the restraints placed upon him by Jim Bonsor decides to accept the offer, the most successful manager in the clubs history at this time is gone.

Furphys replacement came in the form of George Kirby.

However on the pitch the season turned into a disaster. With just 24 goals and 19 points it set records for the football league. A lot had been down to injuries but the financial constraints made Kirbys job impossible. One Bonsor quote of sink or swim with the players you have there is no money highlights this problem.

Andy Rankin starts his long association with the club who joins from Everton for £12,500.

Off the pitch the board room is in turmoil as the Chairman said he would go if someone came forward with £100k for the club. Enter Leslie White who claimed terms had been agreed. However after much recrimination terms were not agreed and Leslie White went back to the east end where he had come from.

Board member Neville Ovendon resigns after claiming Bonsor failed to resign at the clubs AGM as promised.
