The Programme changed to show an action shot on the cover. Unfortunately there was a lack of pictures inside.


News Mickey Walker arrives for £5,000 from York City to become a stalwart between the posts.

QPR attempt to grab Furphy as their manager after Tommy Docherty departs. The board turn them down saying you can only have him for £100,000.

Watford play Manchester united in a 4th round match at Old Trafford. Watford surprise the European Champions by scoring first through Scullion goal, Law equalises to send the game to a replay.
A record 34,099 saw the replay in which Watford lost 2-0.

Watford gain promotion for the first time in 50 years with a home win against Plymouth Argyle, 22,000 witness the win and cheer the players as they stand in the directors box celebrating.

At a town hall reception in the teams honour the chairman, Jim Bonsor was carried around in celebration.

A testimonial against Arsenal was arranged for the manager and 15,229 turned up.

In the League we finish 1st out of 24 of Division 3 (CHAMPIONS!!).
