Watford play Manchester united in a 4th round match at Old
Trafford. Watford surprise the European Champions by scoring first
through Scullion goal, Law equalises to send the game to a replay.
A record 34,099 saw the replay in which Watford lost 2-0.
Watford gain promotion for the first time in 50 years with a home win
against Plymouth Argyle, 22,000 witness the win and cheer the players as
they stand in the directors box celebrating.
At a town hall
reception in the teams honour the chairman, Jim Bonsor was carried
around in celebration.
A testimonial
against Arsenal was arranged for the manager and 15,229 turned up.
