Ron Saunders. Probably more famous now as a manager of Aston Villa with whom he won the League.

News Spurs cough up a Watford club record of £27,000 for Pat Jennings.
Ron Saunders (Yes that one, the famous manager) joins for a club record expenditure of £15,000.

Bill McGarry leaves when Ipswich come in for him, it transpires his wife was unhappy living in Watford.

Watford's former chairman T Rigby-Taylor resigns as president ending 25 years with the club.
