The Watford Home Kit 1962-63

Pat Jennings

Pat Jennings (1963-1964 52 Games for Watford)

News Ground improvements made totalling £18,000 made during the summer of 1962. Which included getting rid of the trees in the Vicarage Road end and tarmacing the top of the terrace. Also built were a Pools office which would become a club shop and Brick enclosed turnstiles replacing the rather less secure tin fence with which a quick jimmy with a crowbar could cut match day expenditure.

Big freeze of the 1962-63 winter hits Watford's income with a £30,000 overdraft amassed due to lack of games. The season ends with a £34,332 loss three times the previous record by the club.
